Crackley, Stuttery Audio In Bluetooth Headphones
Hello. Apologies if this is the wrong board but this seemed to be the correct one. I'm running Debian testing/bookworm and everything is working except my bluetooth headphones. They are connected and I can hear audio through them, but the audio is intermittently very stuttery and glitchy. This has not happened with other linux distros (Fedora, Arch, Void) with this laptop and these headphones. The headphones are technically still usable but the stuttering and glitching makes the listening experience unpleasant. What could I do to possibly figure out what the issue is and solve it? Thanks!

Install Isenkram to check for and install any missing firmware.
then
Code: Select all
# apt install isenkram
Code: Select all
# isenkram-autoinstall-firmware

Re: Crackley, Stuttery Audio In Bluetooth Headphones
The iwlwifi driver sometimes looks for newer firmware that isn't actually available yet. As long as it falls back to a lower version number, that should be OK.
The AMD firmware is available in
You should probably install that. I'm not sure if Isenkram is supposed to install microcode because I have only recently started using it.
It says that kernel drivers are looking for some Realtek firmware that is not available. I'm not sure what that is about. Could be similar to the iwlwifi situation? What is your Bluetooth device? Could you post output for device(s) handling Bluetooth from output of

Re: Crackley, Stuttery Audio In Bluetooth Headphones
I tried installing the microcode and running isenkram-autoinstall-firmware again but I'm still having the same issues. Running lspci -nnvk doesn't yield any devices that are specifically labeled as "bluetooth" that I can see so here's the full output of that command:

The Intel AX200 also handles Bluetooth.
Firmware is in iwlwifi as Intel Bluetooth AX201.

Re: Crackley, Stuttery Audio In Bluetooth Headphones
The Bluetooth firmware is loading OK.
I wonder if it is the codec/profile that is the problem?
In your audio mixer/volume control, select Output Devices and look for an Advanced drop down menu for head phones. Are there options for HSP/HFP, A2DP or other codecs?

The listed codec options are HFP, HSP, and A2DP and A2DP is the codec I've been using.

Re: Crackley, Stuttery Audio In Bluetooth Headphones
Have you tried the other settings? Do they work? Is the sound better or worse?
