Need help getting dlink dwa-182 D1 running on Debian
Need help getting dlink dwa-182 D1 running on Debian
I want to switch to Linux but need to get my dink dwa-182 D1 WiFi dongle working with it. Ive tried every single tutorial on the internet and cant manage to get it to work. It works fine on my windows installation and is recognized when i run lsusb but Im not sure how to get the driver working right. Help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly which files I need to use. The official drivers are confusing.

This chipset rtl8822bu is not very well supported in linux. Some people have managed to get it working in very specific kernels and the method is not for new users.
My advice if possible is to get rid of that dongle and get something more compatible with linux.

I've had it working with a dongle. Regrettably the dongle was a cheap piece of junk, it died the day after the return window closed. the 182 seems like a supported device according to the git. full instructions on the git as well.
It is possible but I agree with the idea to get something that works by default, or at the very least just needs a firmware file or something at best.
