Debian everywhere

So, you're a Computer User (TM). So, you're diving into Debian. So, you've got this binary-thinking device, sitting on your desk. Super Power to the Masses. Moo.

And then, you've got this lovely old Sparc sitting on another desk. And an old 486 laptop, an old all-integrated 486 PC, an iMac, doing nothing but annoying you with an old use(r)less MacOS 8 or something.

Debian GNU/Linux to the rescue!

Well, I've got almost all of my machines running Debian, except for an old Sparcstation 4, which runs NetBSD. Even my old 8088 computers are connected to a Debian box. They can't run Linux themselves, but NCSA's Telnet, complete with its own TCP/IP stack connects them nicely.

At the workgroup I lead, I connect every device to the network, using Debian if possible.

Okay, are there more freaks like me (of course there are) who use Debian (or connect to it) with every device they own?

Well, I do not know many people who are as indoctrinated of computers and debian as you

But I am staring at a terminal also, but that is because of setting up my server.

I caught this a bit late. Anyways... since you seem to be familiar with installation of Debian in different architectures, would happen to know how to start the installation on a palm top?

I know that there's an installation CD for "ARM" but, how to use it since palms don't have a CD drive?

Well, if you know the processor type of your palm and you've got a lot of patience, you could compose a nice series of tools (with for example busybox) and compile it into a palmtop image.

There should be plenty of information and howto's on the net.

At the moment I'm busy getting a nice Debian install on a Neoware thin client (here at my workgroup http://aerv.nl/ ).

What is this workgroup you lead? It seems pretty cool, could you explain what happens there and how did you set it up?

I have a fantasy of doing a simillar thing here in Portugal, have a place where various kinds of people can meet, talk, play and tinker with computers, and all sorts of other things.
