mpv has nothing to do with Youtube video. You may have newer hardware that requires package updates from jessie-backports to work correctly. Can you install inxi and post the results of

Code: Select all

inxi -F

Youtube uses html5 which most browsers can handle without extras. Your first issue will be sound which comes turned off. So, open alsamixer and turn it on.

How did you install mpv? You should have done

Code: Select all

apt-get install mpv
or

Code: Select all

aptitude install mpv
or used Synaptic to install mpv. BTW, mpv is a great multimedia player but it requires the use of CLI. You might be happier with a player that is a bit more user friendly.

Are you using Testing? Maybe you should use Stable.

Hmmm--maybe the newer Debian mpvs are a bit different--the menu entry launches a "dropbox" you can drop media files in to play them. I just backported 0.21.0 the OP mentioned, and its popup HUD GUI has mutated to a bar at the bottom, like all the other players. (it's in my HAH! non-PPA)

I really had to fight with it to build it on a Wheezy base for MX 14, but finally triumphed.

The mpv gui in Testing has a drop box. I don't find that sort of thing very useful; maybe I should. MPV is my preferred player; I've learned enough key strokes to navigate to my satisfaction.

The "dropbox" feature is called with:

Code: Select all

mpv --player-operation-mode pseudo-gui

'inixi' is not going to fix anything, but maybe if you post the output, "results" (what it shows when you run the command)
The results might show something that gives a clue about what
is going one. That is why he asked, "post the results of ",....

Again, please report the full results of

Code: Select all

inxi -F
"inxi -f" is not the same. You will have to follow and give directions exactly if you want computers to do what you want.

You have 32-bit Jessie install? That deb-multimedia link pointed to 64-bit and Testing/Stretch.

You don't need deb-multimedia repos to install mpv.

"the fist day that i installed the OS was working perfect the OS."

So videos and audios works after fresh install?

Can you copy/paste your sources.list here.

nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Hi 1624,

Thank you very much for your help, I have debian 32bit jessie I386. I have checked my folder sources.list and this folder doesn't have files.

Yes, the first day work well the OS, but the second day didn't work the music player, youtube and video.

Why did we have to pry the fact that you're running Debian as a Virtual Box guest from you with inxi? That has everything to do with your problem.

What is the host operating system? Have you installed the VB guest additions in the Debian system?
