Openbox-session not working with lightdm

#1 Post by r4ph0u »

Hello !
It seems that I have the same problem.

I'm running parrot OS mate, and I'm unable to use openbox, neither from lightdm nor startx /usr/bin/openbox-sessionnor startx /usr/bin/openbox

When I tried to use openbox from tty, some xsession lines start showing, then the screen flash black, and the session terminates

Here is the Xorg.1.log :

Hello !
It seems that I have the same problem.

I'm running parrot OS mate, and I'm unable to use openbox, neither from lightdm nor startx /usr/bin/openbox-sessionnor startx /usr/bin/openbox
Parrot OS, is NOT Debian, you should either use the parrot OS forum, or the off-topic forum here, but I don't think to many Debian users are using Parrot OS, ...just saying

Parrot OS being debian based, I thought it would be a good place to ask. Sorry

Parrot OS being debian based,---snip---
Yea, and so is ubuntoo, linux mint, and a few 100 others, but none of them are Debian.
After they butcher and modify a Debian base, they are no longer Debian, and not really supported by Debian, the packages in their repositories should not be used on Debian, Why ? because they are not made for Debian,...any way, aparently the moderator here does not have any problem with the post being in Desktop & Multimedia, so I suppose I should shutup , it is just that at one time , the forum was intended for just Debian, and not as a general linux forum, where every distro under the sun is discussed.
But maybe that policy is changing. I don't know any more, see:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php? ... 82#p720366
It seems odd to me , that post got moved to off topic, and this one dose not... :?:
