Hi,
I have a dual boot configuration on my laptop with 2 drives, one with Windows 11 and one with Debian 11. The secure boot is enabled and I didn't face any problems until now. I recently updated both systems and now when I start the system a message appears before the Grub loader with the text of error: prohibited by secure boot policy. After this error message, the Grub screen shows but not as usual. The box characters are replaced by "?" characters. I don't know much about this subject hence I don't know how to locate the problem. I will attach here an image of what de bootloader looks like: .
Thank you!

You linked to the image web page, not the image itself. It appears to show a normal GRUB screen.deodre wrote: ↑2022-11-26 12:09 I'm sorry, I don't know what happened to the link. Here is the image: https://imgur.com/a/Mg6ocVD

Re: [Software] Grub loader error
Pay attention to the border frame and the up and down arrows that should be displayed at the bottom.
I got the same if UEFI secure boot is enabled after upgrading grub-efi-amd64-signed to the latest stable version (1+2.06+3~deb11u4) and reinstalling GRUB.
It is related with the following changes in grub2 source package:
Code: Select all
grub2 (2.06-3~deb11u4) bullseye-security; urgency=high

Aaah, gotcha. It's kinda blurry so I didn't spot that. Nice catch.

Thank you for this information and for your help, now the things are much clearer!p.H wrote: ↑2022-11-26 13:41 See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... ug=1024447 for more details. GRUB is not allowed to load fonts from separate files any more when secure boot is enabled, but IIUC it has no embedded fonts yet. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.

Re: [Software] Grub loader error
The issue should be fixed in upcoming Debian 11.6 release scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, 2022. New grub packages are available in bullseye-proposed-updates.
