[SID - Unstable] XOrg crashes

#1 Post by papasmurf »

I am using Unstable for quite a while without any issues, but this morning I used Google Meet for the first time. During the call I was kicked out of Xorg two times. In the log I found this:

Code: Select all

2022-12-07T11:14:49.135096+01:00 penguin kernel: [ 1771.706305] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Resetting rcs0 for preemption time out
2022-12-07T11:14:49.135143+01:00 penguin kernel: [ 1771.706326] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Xorg[1256] context reset due to GPU hang
2022-12-07T11:14:49.161888+01:00 penguin kernel: [ 1771.730367] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 9:1:85dffffb, in Xorg [1256]
Has this anything to do with Google Meet? Or was it just a coincidence?

More important, what can I do to avoid this? What additional information do we need to investigate this further?

I think something that might be worth trying as a troubleshooting step is to disable hardware acceleration in your browser.
we see things not as they are, but as we are.
