...if you do not see 'firmware-misc-nonfree' or maybe 'firmware-linux-nonfree' listed as installed you may need to enable 'non-free' and install.

I am here under bullseye, but I do have bookworm on a 2nd SSD just for having a look. Installed cheese there and connected my USB microscope. Worked out-of-the box there too. No issues here
