[Software] Will Pipewire be the default audio server soon ?

#1 Post by NarriT4010 »

Hi, I can't seem to remove noise suppression when I try to output the audio of my PC. The quality is really bad, have tried pavucontrol, pulseeffects. When I make a test on the mictest website
in the details noise suppression is on, which I don't want when streaming music. Is this something a better pc can fix or could it be that the noise suppression is on ? Should I try to replace Pulse Audio with Pipe Wire or should I wait and buy a sound card for mixing and a better pc ?

I was able to change the output to mono by adding these lines in: /etc/pulse/default.pa.d
load-module module-remap-source source_name=record_mono master=auto_null.monitor master_channel_map=front-left channel_map=mono
set-default-source record_mono

I can't create this file like this in that directory:

Code: Select all

sudo touch /etc/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio
sudo touch /etc/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio
touch: cannot touch '/etc/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio': No such file or directory

/etc/pipewire/media-session.d , that's the file I can put there, what does /with-pulseaudio mean ?

A notable change compared to Debian 11 is that the configuration directory has been moved from /etc/pipewire/ to /usr/share/pipewire/

That's where the file should be now ? But /with-pulseaudio still errors ...

Yea It really sounds like these are enabled somehow
Automatic Gain Control: yes
Echo Cancellation: yes
Noise Suppression: yes

Does anybody know where to disable them. I have only seen solutions of adding a module to add such a thing but I actually need those features to not mess with the audio. Anybody have an idea ?

The ALC887 is a 7.1 Channel High Definition Audi
o Codec with two independent SPDIF outputs.
Featuring eight channels of DAC support 7.1 sound pla
yback, and integrates two stereo ADC that can
support a stereo microphone, and feature Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Beam Forming (BF), and
Noise Suppression (NS) for voice applications.
