I want to print in draft mode
Debian 11
I have a multifunction printer, Canon brand.
And I can only print in normal and high ink quality but not in draft quality. This means that I have to spend a lot of ink.
Is there any solution?
Thank you.

Re: I want to print in draft mode
The TS5150 is driverless enabled. How is the printer installed?

Have you tried setting up a driverless print queue?

But, the first link with reference to Apple, what does this have to do with Debian 11?
For now I will follow the second link, since I do not understand the first or I do not understand you.

Re: I want to print in draft mode
I want to make it clear that I see the printer is from a Wi-Fi network. And I can print before explaining the problem.
Only that I cannot print double-sided since the printer interprets double-sided as two independent prints.
And printing in draft mode does not exist, it only prints in normal and high.
I get this in the Debian 11 terminal:
avahi-browse -rt _ipp._tcp

Re: I want to print in draft mode
Go to what you want to print and press Ctrl+Space+P.
Choose the printer.
Choose Draft.
What happens?
For double sided, click on Page Setup. Experiment with One Sided/Two sided Layout. What happens?

Re: I want to print in draft mode
In draft mode:
This option is simply not there, however, in other operating systems such as W..., there is draft mode. In Debian there is only Normal and high.
Regarding double-sided printing, there are all the options, but the problem is that when I say double-sided printing, it prints side A on one sheet and side B on another sheet.
Both cases in Debian 10 everything was perfect, without any problem.

But, the first link with reference to Apple, what does this have to do with Debian 11?
https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consume ... int_guide/AirPrint enables instant printing of photos, emails, web pages and documents from Mac & iOS devices, without the need to install drivers or download software. Simply select an AirPrint printer and print.
Also works in Linux:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirPrintAirPrint is an extension of the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP), which many printers already support either directly, or as a result of being shared through an intermediary system (typically CUPS, the Mac/Linux printing system).

Re: I want to print in draft mode
Is the draft option not available under Image Quality in the print dialogue?

Re: I want to print in draft mode
Hello,
According to Debian Wiki, there are some interesting commands in the cups-ipp-utils package you can use to verify the printer capabilities attributes as exposed by the printer using the ipp protocol [1]. It could be interesting to query your printer to verify if the draft printing quality is available a printer level.

Re: I want to print in draft mode
When I had an ink jet printer, I used ecofont. For now they seem to provide only windows installers. After a quick net search I found links how to use in linux.
