Debian 12 Bookworm: what needs to be done after the final release

#1 Post by haegarsh »

Hello,

just a dumb question...

I have installed Debian 12 Bookworm a few days ago from the testing iso.
Everything works perfect for me - no errors or issues so far. Therefore I would like to keep the system in the future.

Now the question: what needs to be done when the official/final Debian 12 Bookworm is released on June 10th,2023?
Do I have to change something in /etc/apt/sources.list and to issue any commands?

Thank you for your help!

What does it currently say?

For deb it says:
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm main contrib non-free non-free-firmware

Just searched the forum a bit and it seems that everything should already be correct (otherwise testing would be in the file).
Maybe after the final freeze the install from the iso has no longer the "testing" entry ...

You'll need the bookworm-updates & bookworm-security repositories as well once the release is out.

Here's my list:

Code: Select all

deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm-updates main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
deb https://deb.debian.org/debian-security bookworm-security main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
Jeder nach seinen Fähigkeiten, jedem nach seinen Bedürfnissen.
