Debian 12 KDE. I have no idea why konqueror is still installed and (I think) upon removing it problems appear. I think that once removed it causes some kind of problem with Discover updating. Is it because libkf5konq6 is also removed as a dependency of Konqueror or are there other things in the Konqueror package that Discover looks for?
Either way IMHO it is an outdated piece of software and I bet is used by a very, tiny percentage of people.

Re: [Software] Why is konqueror still installed
Removing konqueror I would get a drkonqi crashed message when trying to update using Discover.
I'll give your protocol a try.
Thanks

Just leave it. Or use it as a file manager.
