Greetings folks.
I'm looking into building a kernel and using a patch file to get my sound working on my new laptop. Looking at https://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_debian it calls for me to install kernel-package. I can't locate kernel-package in stable, tesing or Sid.
Does anyone know what's in kernel-package that I might be able to install separately.
Thanks,

Because that is a very old tutorial.
As you can see in the comments under it (HtF), from the creation of the article even to 2015-12-30, some things changed.
You can see it also by Linux (kernel) version history. Mentioned linux-2.6.21 was supported in 2007.
CwF has provided you with a link to the official and current guide.
