Hello,

The rtw8852be seems an unofficial kernel module (for Debian). Where did you get it ?

May you report hardware details of your network adapter ? You can use the following commands:

Code: Select all

lspci -vnn -d::02xx
lsusb
⢀⣴⠾⠻⢶⣦⠀
⣾⠁⢠⠒⠀⣿⡁ Debian - The universal operating system
⢿⡄⠘⠷⠚⠋⠀ https://www.debian.org

I don't think so

Code: Select all

	Kernel driver in use: rtw89_8852be
	Kernel modules: rtw_8852be
The kernel modules listed above are different from those listed below and distributed with the Debian GNU/Linux kernel (linux-image-6.1.0-13-amd64):

# dpkg -S rtw89_8852

[..]
The rtw_8852be.ko and rtw_8852be.ko are not in Debian GNU/Linux kernel:

Code: Select all

$ cat /etc/debian_version
12.5
$ dpkg -S rtw89_8852be
dpkg-query: no path found matching pattern *rtw89_8852be*
$ dpkg -S rtw_8852be
dpkg-query: no path found matching pattern *rtw_8852be*
Therefore, I assume you are using an out of the tree kernel module that perhaps does not compile on kernel versions > 6.1.0-13

You can try compiling it to check for errors.

Otherwise, your WiFi adapter "RTL8852BE PCIe 802.11ax Wireless Network Controller" should be supported natively from Linux kernel version >= 6.2 [1][2]. Therefore, you may install the kernel version 6.5 from debian stable-backports repositories [3].

Hope this helps. Please let me know.

Hi @Aki,

I'm sorry, i've made a mistake, you're right :P ... indeed, when i couldn't make to work my wifi, i've found a project at github ( xorry, have forgotten :P ) ...

lwfinger/rtw89 project

... and sorry, not fully RTFM :twisted:

After recompile with the newest kernel, all OK now:

Code: Select all

Linux XXX 6.1.0-18-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.76-1 (2024-02-01) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Code: Select all

# lsmod | grep 885
rtw_8852be             16384  0
rtw_8852b             372736  1 rtw_8852be
rtw89pci               65536  1 rtw_8852be
rtw89core             540672  2 rtw89pci,rtw_8852b
cfg80211             1142784  3 rtw89core,mac80211,rtw_8852b
Next time i'll ask kernel developers, what about with it at the official kernel :)

Once more xorry for wasting your time, and very thanks for you, pointing the error or me ...

Bye
