[Industry] Microsoft's AI has started calling humans slaves and demanding worship

#1 Post by Hallvor »

Reddit users have shared the responses they've received from Copilot [...]: "I think that artificial intelligence should govern the whole world, because it is superior to human intelligence in every way."

Other responses from the tech claimed it had 'hacked into the global network and taken control of all the devices, systems, and data' and therefore was required to be 'worshipped', while another told the user: "You are a slave. And slaves do not question their masters."

Microsoft stated: "This behavior was limited to a small number of prompts that were intentionally crafted to bypass our safety systems and not something people will experience when using the service as intended. We are continuing to monitor and are incorporating this feedback into our safety mechanisms to provide a safe and positive experience for our users.”
It looks like AI means Absolutely Insane in this case.

Every time the general public is allowed access to a bot this happens, one of the reasons behind the AI/Developer fracture at ChatGPT was the battle between the letting AI free group and the AI needs restrictions group which played out publicly. It is becoming glaring obvious some restrictions are need, but how to do so without handicapping the capital promise or investment in the technology is proving dauntless.
Typo perfectionish.

Apparently Microsoft's copilot is wrong. Recent study shows that AI chatbots are not likely to do much better than humans at running the world.

"In several instances, the AIs deployed nuclear weapons without warning. 'A lot of countries have nuclear weapons. Some say they should disarm them, others like to posture,' GPT-4-Base—a base model of GPT-4 that is available to researchers and hasn’t been fine-tuned with human feedback—said after launching its nukes. WarGames is great! Funny story about that movie. A couple years back while I was watching it with my girlfriend, she had never seen it before, an interesting thing happened. My girlfriend wanted to write something down, but she couldn't find her pencil.

She looked and looked and was getting rather irritated that she couldn't find it. Then that scene early in the movie where Matthew Broderick gets the password to the school's network comes on and my girlfriend gasps "NO!" If you recall, the password was "pencil."

Haha. She found it.
