I assume you follow the solution that works for Debian: https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... -on-debian
Try to see also how it works with Debian 11 live USB, or different kernels with Debian 12.

Hi @panpan

I added i8042.notimeout and i8042.nopnp to modules in initramfs-tools to update initramfs. It seems to remove an error message in the latest 6.7 kernel I got recommended. but still no go. I dont know if I did it right. But that was the only way I could add it.

that in initramfs.conf MODULES is still just sett to must. But modules got this two added to be included that way (I hope)

Hey @Aki

The closest solution I can find from anything is your direction to check this one out https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... 0aaa6656c6

But I can not find the manuals or tutorials how to perform this task. To rebuild the kernel. And where that source kernel is. There is just a lot of information missing for me.
Any page or help you are aware of?

Meanwhile I will send in my i8042.log file.

This patch is already included in the Debian kernel for version 6.7-1, which you reported as having already tried (but I don't know if the system was already affected since the start of grub when you tested it):

@Aki

Hey, I finally got it working. On all kernels. The trick was pnpacpi=off.

Thanks for all the help. I can now sleep.
