Failed to load iwlwifi

#1 Post by fced »

Hi,

I am currently running Debian 11 & having issues setting up WiFi. When in the command line, running lspci successfully shows my WiFi adapter as an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 [Jefferson Peak]. Running ip a shows my Ethernet adapter, but doesn’t show my WiFi adapter at all and has no interface. Running dmesg shows firmware: failed to load iwlwifi-9000-pu-b0-jf-b0-46.ucode (-2) with error -2. I already have firmware-iwlwifi installed. The issue is this firmware error. Does anyone know a resolution to solve this problem?

Thanks,

fced

The file "iwlwifi-9000-pu-b0-jf-b0-46.code" is not part of any package in Debian. You can use packages.debian.org to search for contents of packages.

Yeah it is, it's included in Bookworm's firmware-iwlwifi.

OP, upgrading to Bookworm will resolve this.

That contains "iwlwifi-9000-pu-b0-jf-b0-46.ucode", not "iwlwifi-9000-pu-b0-jf-b0-46.code". Perhaps a typo?

It is the same thing. The "u" doesn't change anything. Just a stand in for μ or microcode
