[Software] Laptop Won't Wake Up from Sleep Mode After Closing Lid (Debian 12, Gnome 43.9)

#1 Post by Allder »

Hello everyone,I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having with my laptop. Whenever I close the lid to put it in sleep mode, it won't wake up when I open it again. I've tried pressing the power button and using the keyboard shortcut to wake it up, but nothing seems to work. I've also tried plugging it in to charge, but that doesn't make a difference either.

I've tried searching for solutions to this problem, but nothing I've found has worked so far. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, how they were able to fix it. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have.

I never had this issue before reinstalling Debian 3 weeks ago, but now i need to restart it each time i close the laptop or if I wait too long (10-20 min)

OS: Debian 12
DE: Gnome 43.9

Thank you in advance for your help!

I have the same S3 problem, but not sure if it's debian or my BIOS, using coreboot here.

Perhaps this is a BIOS thing, but if it worked before then I might be wrong.

What settings are activated in /etc/systemd/logind.conf?

My understanding is that if things are commented out it will use the default, which means it is suspending. I'm assuming suspend worked 3 weeks ago. An upgrade, an installation, removal, etc...

Does this occur when you use a Live USB?

@Allder Please use code tags for terminal text and config files. I fixed it for you this time.
