[Software] **solved** "Unable to show GL data. Required tool glxinfo missing"

#1 Post by mintjulip255 »

I have an older computer that I installed Emmabuntus (based on Debian) on that I let my younger kids use for goofing around. I upgraded from Emmabuntus 4 to 5, but since then, I cannot see what kind of rendering my graphics (integrated Intel) is doing. Now, when I run inxi -Fxxxrz, I get a message saying "API: OpenGL Message: Unable to show GL data. Required tool glxinfo missing.". With version 4, I got a display on the rendering of the integrated graphics card.

Here is what inxi -Fxxxrz displayed prior to upgrading the system:

Code: Select all

Graphics: Device-1: Intel 4th Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics
           vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: i915 v: kernel bus ID: 00:02.0 chip ID: 8086:041e
           class ID: 0300
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 compositor: xcompmgr driver: loaded: modesetting
           unloaded: fbdev,vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz s-dpi: 96

           compat-v: 3.0 direct render: Yes
And here is the current system after the upgrade now:

Code: Select all

Graphics:
Device-1: Intel 4th Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics
    vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: i915 v: kernel arch: Gen-7.5 ports:

    missing.

Here is the full inxi -FXXXrz:

Everything else seems to be the same. Is there a way to find this "glxinfo"? I had it in version 4.

Moved to Off-Topic because this is not a Debian question.
we see things not as they are, but as we are.

I found it. It is part of the Mesa utilities package. Just install. Took less than 1 minute.

Code: Select all

# apt-get install mesa-utils
