First i was thinking that would be a gnome-terminal setting, but this same behavior happens on zeal for example, when i ask to open a doc link on external browser. Just to be clear, the behavior that im talking abour is:
when i click on a link, if firefox is already opened it just shows a notification saying that "firefox is ready" instead of switch window to the firefox, while chrome always switch window automatically.
Im using debian 12.
EDIT: solve the issue using https://github.com/zalckos/GrandTheftFocus extension

Re: [Software] Is there a way to make firefox and chromium behavior the same?
Thank you for letting us know the solution you found.
I'm not using Gnome at the moment, but I suspect there are other ways of achieving the same behaviour, by editing Gnome settings in a terminal, using a GUI settings manager like gconf-editor, or a general Gnome configuration manager like Gnome Tweaks.

Some of the advice here may be out of date or not apply to a Debian installation, but there should be something that works without the need for an extension.
If you are happy with your solution, please edit the title of your first post and add [Solved] at the beginning.
