New Debian 12 installation - No Firefox minimize

#1 Post by drenriza »

Hi All
I have just installed Debian 12, and noted that Firefox has no option to maximize or minimize the window, only close.
Is this an feature or a bug?

Using the Gnome - Default window manager.

Best regards

Hello.

This is a feature. Feature of Gnome DE. Just use xfce.

You can also use gnome-tweaks and configure maximize and minimize options with that tool.

I use Gnome. If I right-click the title bar (the top bar) I get the options "Hide" and "Restore". Hide means minimize. Restore is when the window takes up only part of the screen but is not minimized. Right click again, then select "Maximize" to, well,..., maximize. :)

Yeah, look under Window Titlebars.

Another way to maximize is double-click of the title bar. That's the default, Tweaks not needed.

Not a fan of Gnome, by the way, and think hiding the min/max buttons was a poor design decision.

Had the same irritation - gnome-tweaks worked for me. Thanks

You need to right-click Firefox's top bar twice to get the Hide/Restore/Move options.
Quite un-intuitive but I gues it is what it is ..
