[Software] Docker and Podman

#1 Post by sakurita »

Hi,

I've seen that in the Debian Wikipedia it recommends the use of Podman instead of the ubiquitous Docker, running docker daemon as root seems a security problem. I've seen that right now both offer rootless support, but i've read on different websites that Docker will stop receiving updates so you should migrate to Podman.

Is this correct? Taking into consideration the type of license and future, what is the most recommended option to opt for? It's safer to containerize with Sudo on Podman than with Docker?

Regards
