[Feedback] Login/Logout issues?

#1 Post by donald »

For some time I constantly get logged out of the forum even with the 'remember me' option checked, my browser is set to store cookies yet I have to log in each time. I suspect it may be the work of our enhanced cookie system and this particular browser. I know of 4 others users with the same complaint and now a 5th.

Is it only 5 people affected here?

If you are affected could you share your browser information: Vendor, version, extensions?

Mine:

Code: Select all

Vivaldi	6.8.3381.53 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)
Revision	c703aba8689f98dfc36a017440f3a6765f5e6141
OS	Linux
JavaScript	V8 12.6.228.30
User Agent	Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/126.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Command Line	/usr/bin/vivaldi-stable --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end --save-page-as-mhtml
Executable Path	/opt/vivaldi/vivaldi
Profile Path	/home/donald/.config/vivaldi/Default
Variations Seed Type	Null
Typo perfectionish.

Was happening several months ago but not recently. Firefox ESR, originally Debian repo version and Mozilla repo FF-ESR version for the last few days.

Code: Select all

$ firefox-esr --version
Mozilla Firefox 128.2.0esr

I get it from time to time. Firefox-ESR from the Stable repo, fully upgraded.

If it happens every time, make sure your browser is set to store cookies.

This is good feedback as it shows how long this problem has been around. Thank you.

You probably already know this,

but to clarify, I've had my browser set to store forum cookies since 2007.

But I haven't had the login/cookies problem since 2007. ;)

Ahhh I misunderstood you there.

I hereby retract in full my thank you to ComputerBob!
