Why did it shut down last night?

#1 Post by urdrwho10 »

Three days ago I decided to try and tackle the reason I haven't been using Deb and that was it was heating up my cores more than Windows. Therefore I've been using Windows for the past two months.

I decided to back up my home partition and do a fresh install and over-write my home partition. Normally I keep home. After doing the re-fresh the temps were in a nice range. I'm guessing crud accumulated over the years from me adding/removing/ programs.

When I got to the computer this morning it was shut down. Over the night for some reason it shut down, now I have to figure out why Deb would decide to shut down? Which particular log would show it?

The default installation suspends after idle, maybe suspend failed somehow? You can use journalctl to see logs.

Thanks. I'll check into that. I gave a thumbs thank you but the thumb looks like it is down. It is supposed to be a thumbs up for ya!
