Re: [Hardware] Soundcore Liberty 4 NC | earbuds
I have not those, but use bluetooth headphones almost every day.

Re: [Hardware] Soundcore Liberty 4 NC | earbuds
I tried hcitool scan. that found everything except the Soundcore Liberty 4. I tried to connect on another box running Linuxmint it refused to connect with a warning. software caused connection abort
Re: [Hardware] Soundcore Liberty 4 NC | earbuds
I also have the soundcore liberty 4 nc. My os is debian12 kde plasma. I did not have any problems pairing the earbuds with my pc.
First I disconnected the Soundcore earbuds from my android phone.
Then I disconnected the connected bluetooth device (Sanwu) in kde.
Then I took the earbuds out of the box and start searching in kde for new bluetooth devices. The Soundcore earbuds were found and the pairing proces was completed without errors.
I cannot remember exactly how it was but there were no problems at all.

Re: [Hardware] Soundcore Liberty 4 NC | earbuds
I followed peers' advice. The htitool scan shows the earbuds as HTC-bc8415a1. They will connect then disconect within seconds.
I tried a Hp Elitebook 840 G3 with Debian 12 testing and a Lenovo D30 with a tp-link dongle running linux Mint Uma, both boxes are old enough to vote soon.
Could be hardware??

You should make you earbuds trusted.
I use blueman and pulseaudio, works well.

Blueman installed installed. The earbuds are paired and trusted, the adaptor is debian-laptop(hci0) trying to connect fails with error connection to device failed. no explainationarzgi wrote: 2024-10-05 11:53 You should make you earbuds trusted.

From https://wiki.debian.org/BluetoothUser
And of course you need the pulseaudio-module-bluetooth installed. I also purged pipewire, had some problems with it.
Also sometimes pulseaudio needs to restarted (sometime looses the conf. etc)Pairing using a GUI tool
Install one of the following packages:
gnome-bluetooth (for GNOME)
bluedevil (for KDE)
or blueman (Gtk2)
Log out of your desktop session and log back in - this is required for the pairing pop-up in the next step to appear correctly.
Code: Select all
pulseaudio -k
pulseaudio --start
Re: [Hardware] Soundcore Liberty 4 NC | earbuds
I got it to connect; but no sound from either the laptop with debian 12 or the D30 workstation with Linux Mint and a tp=link adapter. Getting the earbud working is not that high priority I have a good set of AKG studio headphones.

To get bluetooth earbuds/headphones to work, after connection has been linked, I click pulseaudio's volume then select the mixer and select the name of the linked device.
I use Xfce and pulseaudio, installed pulseaudio volume app from Xfce's panel apps.
EDIT: corrected the right procedure
