Android Virtual/Emulator

#1 Post by yesh »

I want to run an '𝕏 Spaces' on 𝕏.

In their Help Center it says:
Spaces is a way to have live audio conversations on X. Anyone can join, listen, and speak in a Space on X for iOS and Android. Currently you can listen in a Space on web.
https://help.x.com/en/using-x/spaces

Using a browser on Xfce desktop, I can listen to audio in an '𝕏 Spaces', but have audio issues when attempting to speak using microphone. According to the Help quote above, they only support speech on IOS or Android.

Is there are good solution to run Android (Virtual or Emulator) on Debian?

Look forward to your suggestions ...

see: "https://fossbytes.com/best-android-emulators-linux/"
- waydroid is very good but you have to be on wayland.
- Genymotion is also good. It depends on virtualbox

@yesh my friend were you able to make that emulator work perfectly?

@peer from the link that you have shared waydroid and anbox are the lightest emulators but they are not installing in debian gnome, check here viewtopic.php?p=812058 genymotion requires registration and payment. avd is google crap. bliss is a separate os. is it possible to install android-x86 emulator in debian rather than installing it as a separate os?

I have installed waydroid on debian 12 kd (wayland). Works ok.
Genymotion reguires registration but you do not have to pay (although they would like you to pay).

I am trying to install waydroid in debain 12 live usb but getting an error, screenshots posted in the main post viewtopic.php?p=812097
Can you share a detailed guide as in how you installed it? I set up tor proxies and then macchanger, firewall and anonsurf (although all these didn't work) and then tried installing the emulator lastly. Do you think that is giving me issues?

If possible, can you set up tor proxies in your debian and check if everything from that android emulator is routed through the tor network only? I will be very thankful to you for this.

I just used the procedure that is given on the waydroid website (https://docs.waydro.id/usage/install-on-desktops). And I had a fresh debian 12 kde plasma install on wayland.

Mine is bookworm version, will the same steps apply? Will report back to you.
If possible then can you please check that if you install tor proxies, then does everything from that emulator passes through the tor network only or are there any leaks?

debian 12 = Bookworm.
I only use Tor in Tails. I think that there allways will be leaks when you run Tor on a daily driver.

Pardon me for asking, tails does not allow any software to be installed in it let alone an emulator and for all the good reasons.
If a tor proxy is set up in debian correctly and an emulator is installed and finally a blocked app is run then where will the leak come from him? Just trying to understand what could cause a leak? This live debian usb will not be my cousins daily driver. He will only use it to access blocked apps in the emulator like once or twice in a week maximum.
