[Testing - Trixie] mate and fs btrfs

#1 Post by maurom17 »

hello everyone
my name is mauro and i write from italy.
i am an inexperienced user in linux and at the first installation of debian. i chose debian trixie mate with fs btrfs. i used linux for 15 years and, after a break of about 9 years i returned to the distributions i used in the past opensuse and red hat/ fedora. now i tried trixie and i liked it a lot. i use my linux debian trixie in vm virtualbox and in bare-metal in a 16 years old acer laptop. always with desktop mate and fs btrfs. i confess that i was surprised by the lightness of trixie even in my old laptop. my laptop is an acer travelmate intel core 2 duo p8400. 4gb of ram (maximum supported) and a recent samsung sata III ssd. I am very security conscious and am testing ProtonVPN free while waiting for the current provider to expire and it does not support any linux.
In the post-installation I installed gufw, gparted, various codecs, vlc, timeshift and other office packages.
Do you have any advice for me?
I take this opportunity to wish everyone my best
Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!! :grinning: :grinning:
Bye

You have installed Debian Testing [1], so you should know that some problems may appear over time as new packages land in Testing from Unstable.
