I created a probe as described in Hardware for Linux. The results can be seen at https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=78090f6d29. In particular, the entry for the built in WiFi is:
PCI 1814103c:1638 »

WiFi Ralink RT3592 2T/2R not working properly
Re: WiFi Ralink RT3592 2T/2R not working properly
According to Linux kernel version history i should try a kernel around 2.6.35 to 3.2. Could such an old kernel work with Debian 12, and if so, where can I find it (I couldn't find it with Synaptic)?

What does "not working properly" mean? Does it connect? How did you configure it?
It is reported to work in Debian 12 - https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=b86df6ad72 . That it's detected and loaded with the correct driver in your probe is a good start.
You may need firmware, install firmware-misc-nonfree if you don't have it.
And I'm almost certain an old kernel won't work.

It shows up in the settings and it connects, saying signal strength excellent, but most of the time the speed is to low to even be measured. Speedtest says "Cannot retrieve speedtest configuration, ERROR: <urlopen error [Errno -3] Temporary failure in name resolution>.sunrat wrote: 2025-01-11 00:53 What does "not working properly" mean?
