[SID - Unstable] BUG Report on Upgrade Attempt

#1 Post by rossi »

Good Morning.

As root, I issue the command:

apt-get install

and eventually receive the following report:

Retrieving bug reports... Done
Parsing Found/Fixed information... Done
serious bugs of python3-fissix (21.6.6-1 ~F~R 21.6.6-2) <Outstanding>
b1 - #1025380 - python3-fissix: SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'
grave bugs of libgl1-mesa-dri (22.2.4-1 ~F~R 22.3.0-1) <Forwarded>
b2 - #1025312 - libgl1-mesa-dri: multiple packages FTBFS and have autopkgtest regressions running test programs under Xvfb
Merged with: 1025324
Summary:
libgl1-mesa-dri(1 bug), python3-fissix(1 bug)

Are you sure you want to install/upgrade the above packages? [Y/n/?/...] n
**********************************************************************
****** Exiting with an error in order to stop the installation. ******
**********************************************************************

I wasn't sure what to do, so I terminated the upgrade. Is there a way to continue the upgrade without installing the reported bugs?

Could you please elaborate on what should be done when this happens? Will the bugs that are reported eventually be fixed so that they
disappear following a renewed apt-get update?

Thanks so much for your help with this.

Kind regards,

Angelo

Read the bug reports - see if they concern you.

Install and use aptitude for fine grained package management.

On 2 images I recently held 7 and 10 packages at 22.2.0-1 without issue.
Current candidate is 22.2.4-1, could just wait, or dig up the relevance in each case.

on edit; scratch that, I see 22.3.0-2
