Kernel name is usually different from the package name. Here:

Code: Select all

$ apt list -i linux-image*
Listing... Done
linux-image-5.10.0-20-amd64/stable,now 5.10.158-2 amd64 [installed,automatic]
linux-image-5.18.0-17.1-liquorix-amd64/stable,now 5.18-21.1~bullseye amd64 [installed]
linux-image-6.0.0-13.3-liquorix-amd64/stable,now 6.0-12.1~bullseye amd64 [installed]
linux-image-6.1.0-5.2-liquorix-amd64/stable,now 6.1-11.1~bullseye amd64 [installed]

Audio doesn't work in HP Pavilion Laptop 14-dv0xxx.
Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Tiger Lake-LP Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller (rev 20)
Downgrading to 5.10.0-19 solved the problem

I have the exact same problem on a Dell Inspiron 15. Wonder if it will be fixed with a 5.10.0-21-amd64 kenel update? I tried linux-image-6.0.0-0.deb11.2-amd64 from backports, but it was even worse - no sound at all. Edit: but the sound seems to be back with version 5.19.0-0.deb11.2-amd64 from backports.
Pleased to confirm that the issue if fixed with the latest 5.10.0-21-amd64 kernel :D . And contrary to what I wrote above, using version 6 from backports did solve the issue too.

No, 5.10.0-21-amd64 doesn't solve the issue on my HP EliteBook 855 G8 Notebook PC. Sounds works on 5.10.0-19-amd64 only.
