Was weird but was fixed a couple of days later with a -2 revision, and was 8 weeks ago. - viewtopic.php?t=153103
Always!
I have the exact same problem on a Dell Inspiron 15. Wonder if it will be fixed with a 5.10.0-21-amd64 kenel update? I tried linux-image-6.0.0-0.deb11.2-amd64 from backports, but it was even worse - no sound at all. Edit: but the sound seems to be back with version 5.19.0-0.deb11.2-amd64 from backports.
The same here on ASUS ExpertBook B1500C with Intel Tiger Lake. I have no idea how to investigate the issue further but happy to provide info if someone knows how can I help resolving this.oysterboy wrote: ↑2022-12-20 23:29I have the exact same problem on a Dell Inspiron 15. Not sure if that is the same. The user there reports no devices show up in the sound settings and 'pacmd list-sinks' complains about pulseaudio is not running. To me, the sound device shows up normally and the 'pacmd list-sinks' command lists the expected audio outputs. There is even sound when I first try to play something after boot. However, if I stop playing, then I try playing something again, there is no sound anymore. If I then run 'pulseaudio --kill' and 'pulseaudio --start', I get back the sound, but again it works for the first try only.FreewheelinFrank wrote: ↑2022-12-22 08:42 Same loss of sound issue for user here:

which nvidia version?sunrat wrote: ↑2022-12-18 11:51Always!
Further good news - as part of this minor Debian version update to 11.6, a new version of Nvidia drivers arrived so I could now update the Liquorix kernel I use to the latest 6.0.0-13.3; the previous Bullseye Nvidia driver would not build on Liquorix 6.0.x. Not sure whether the backports 6.0.x kernel was similarly affected.
I just installed linux-image-6.1.0-5.2-liquorix-amd64. Default current Bullseye Nvidia driver 470.161.03 built fine.
my bad. it was failing to build because of virtualbox-guest-dkms which i am sure i had uninstalled but apparently that was not the case
