I recently added this device to a standard PCI slot (not PCIx) as it was the only slot I had available. I put my DVD drive on it because it doesn't need what my ssd's need. The problem is my read speed is 0.8x / 1101kbps as shown in Makemkv.
I'm showing
Code: Select all
dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/sr0
INQUIRY: [ATAPI ][iHAS124 F ][CL9P]
GET [CURRENT] CONFIGURATION:
Mounted Media: 10h, DVD-ROM
Speed Descriptor#0: 08/332999 R@6.1x1385=8467KB/s W@6.1x1385=8467KB/s
However it shows the same and runs 10 times faster when it's on the motherboard sata slot. In Windows 10 I get expected rip speeds, taking 10-15 minutes for a given disk at most. On Debian I'm ripping a disk now and it's been going for 30 minutes and still not done on title 1 of 4 (tv show series disk). Have tried with multiple disks, not just this specific disk. I'm unsure of what to look for, if anything at all.
