Hello,
My laptop has a new-ish wireless card, an RTL8852BE. Firmware for this card was merged into upstream linux-firmware in October and is included in the upstream 20221214 release.
The version of firmware-realtek in Sid is 20221214. But this doesn't include the firmware for the RTL8852BE. Is there any reason why the maintainers did this, and if it is a mistake, how can I get it rectified?
Thanks

You can send a bug report [1] for the package firmware-realtek [2].lcoogan wrote: ↑2023-01-25 21:26 The version of firmware-realtek in Sid is 20221214. Hello Aki,
Thanks for your response, this is actually what I did in the end (although I filed it against package firmware-nonfree) https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... ug=1029708

Interesting. The packages firmware-nonfree and firmware-realtek appear to be missing from Sid currently. - https://packages.debian.org/search?suit ... re-realtek
A new package was accepted into Sid yesterday so maybe that will fix the omission -
https://tracker.debian.org/news/1414549 ... -unstable/
You can get all firmware from https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... rmware.git
or just for RTL8822x from https://github.com/bserem/Realtek-RTL8822x-Linux
