[Software] Nym-Connect

#1 Post by Fasterandfaster »

Has anyone installed Nym-Connect on Debian? I would just virtualize it on Ubuntu but I don't have that option. There are many steps involved. I think there is an issue with the yarn install since it appears everything compiled correctly. Git can be compromised and endless loops happen. This is the last error message and I'm not sure what to do next. It's not easy to make nym with Debian. Any ideas for streamlining?

Even tor+https on Qubes OS can be compromised. RiseUP and ProtonVPN can be broken by my adversary. I got interested in Nym and Yggdrasil because things don't work properly when someone else is messing things up for you. That can also happen with proprietary software. I think freeSoftware is ultimately more secure unless you have experts monitoring all your systems to prevent and repair attacks. Please share your thoughts about secure networking on Debian. Thanks

For further clarification. I am a legitimate free software user who is trying to improve the security of the system. I am suited to this task because I am constantly being cyber attacked. Hackers have taken control over my computer and then blame me for its behavior. So I am trying to keep them out so that the system works properly. I don’t see how the APThreat is legitimate. The hardware is my property and the software is strongly passworded by me. I do nothing illegal ever, so I can’t see how the attacks could be justified judicially: must be just some scriptid with a bad pwn habit. My conduct is all white hat.
This scriptid thinks that they can convince the public that FreeSoftware is defective if they destroy my system. Proprietary software can also be hacked. The hacks are just hidden in EULAS or in unnoticeable background stealth processes that people are unaware of and in security and privacy they have been forced to forfeit in order to use the product. The scriptid needs flipped.
Debian tor+http sources are good but must not be the best. Qubes has tor+httpS but I have encountered update hacks even with those sources. Debian tor+http security sources have an gpg (In)Release signing issue, so I have tried https transport only for security sources. If that was covered by a VPN, my updates might be successful. That it why I am interested in Nym (see History of Mixnets on invidous yt for more information). Other VPNs I have tried get broken and altered by my attacker. Yggdrasil is still in its early stages. Does anyone know how to improve the security of up dating beyond tor+http in Debian?
Furthermore, not everything can be accessed via tor. How do people access tor blocked webpages securely? If I want an iso, how do I get it without an attacker injecting malicious code? Onion server downloads (e.g. Ignite and Qubes) take eons. I verify my iso but then there must be forgeries of verifications or installations can be interrupted with RF (see COSADE, spectrum analyzers). It would appear that there is no secure way of getting access to information if anything is connected. Is the best I can do for this threat model is to run Live Read-only Tails DVDs? Tails does not virtualize and there is fingerprinting through /proc that can be used to target and attack a particular system. Yes, anonymity improves the odds of maintaining integrity of the system because then the attacker doesn’t know who to attack. But Qubes is writable and I don’t have VT anyway. Virtmanager might be improved on TAILS. And there are big problems with Java. LibreJS might help. Not everything can be done via command line, or if it can there should be more guides (well written and not omitting any steps).

Nym Guide

Nym-Connect Install Guide for Debian 11 (Bullseye)

Can anyone provide a full list of the following abridged command steps to improve and streamline the installation of Nym-Connect? There are several obstacles and I am not sure what is the best way to proceed. Thank you.

source "$HOME/.cargo/env"
rustup update
git clone https://github.com/nymtech/nym.git
cargo build –release
apt install libglib2.0-dev
apt install libgtk-3-dev
NETWORK=sandbox cargo build –release
apt install libgtk-3-devel
apt-get install gtk+3.0 –fix-missing
pkg-config --variable pc_path pkg-config
dpkg -l libgtk* | grep -e '^i' | grep -e 'libgtk-*[0-9]'
gdk-sys-00bc5caa0727eccc/build_script_build-00bc5caa0727eccc.d
apt-get install build-essential libgtk-3-dev
apt install gh
yarn install
apt install nodejs npm
sudo n 14.15.0
yarn install –ignore-engines
yarn dev

Thanks for the prompt reply. Thought appImage would work just for Ubuntu and was not distro agnostic. Used to know these basics and top secrets before I was emf stroked (bioEMP). I wonder how many of the experts can say that! I wish I wish I could just click pink for p*ss*; I got genocided and they won't let me work or reproduce...

Please see my post in Networking if you are interested in the background. An appImage with torsocks wget is approx 530 B and streaming and torsocks wget .deb are arround 190-80 KB while tor+http sources are ~100 KB for a short time (see using NYX). Nyx says there is a 1GB throttle? Why is that even an option? The problem is I have an attacker that injects my data retrieval and breaks VPNs. Running data through torsocks or control port makes the network slower (I don't often though) but VPNs aren't as strong. Suggestions for data transfer that is still secure but does not (slightly) burden the tor network?

Are everyone else’s tor circuits just VPNs to Bush? How do you get total control over your tor circuits? I have explored Nyx. The install and interface is easy enough but there is not much info about configurations (like Sandboxing, FascistFirewall, and bridging [my tor can get total bridge blocked even if I request and input more]). When I start system tor with init.d tor start nothing happens. I verify tor browser downloads but still anomalies happen. There is some way tor circuits are manipulated outside the user’s system. Then everyone tells me I am not the “dominant” male but no one is dominant with Tailored Access Ops. If you think you are dominant, your endpoint just hasn’t been TAOed yet. How is an individual supposed to be dominant so they can reproduce with the NSA and other trillionaire class hackers around? Impossible. No one is dominant. They just won’t take the submissive female role. They should get mad at the other party for not being the submissive female. You are not dominant, any of you: your stuff just hasn’t been destroyed yet. You only have the illusion of dominance because someone bigger than you isn’t mess it all up for you!

Random rants are not going to help get your questions answered. Are you actually asking any relevant questions?

Please keep posts concise and stick to the topic.
Also only one topic is allowed per issue. I have merged your two topics about Nym together.

The merger may be good, but I object to my posts being called random rants. They aren't random. I raise several questions that could be divided into their own threads but the issue is focused on the problem of secure connection. I can't get secure updates. I have brought up several, specific technical questions. None have been addressed except how to install Nym which is admittedly simple but does not solve my problem of secure connection. It is not a VPN. It is for specific applications and still in development. Now I know.

For example, can anyone tell me why tor+http security sources in Debian are not gpg signed (In)Release?

If you can't see a unity of theme, I think you must not be reading closely enough or you just want to deflate my credibility because i raise tough questions.I am not random or ranting.People are just putting me down to get up.It is a software community I am trying to gain understanding and improve in my own humble way. I don't see why I should be commented out. In Samoa, a sense of humor and depth and breadth of communication are not considered random ranting. Maybe it's because the audience is British english cats that don't pass Turing. IDK.

Sorry if you misunderstood my comment. This is a help subforum so the best way to get help is to only post what is relevant to understanding and solving your issue. If you want to have a discussion about Linux, software or Debian etc., there is a dedicated Discussion subforum.
I never heard of Nym-connect before and doubt many (or any) of our regular contributors have either. Does it have it's own forum or other help channel?

I have made separate threads about
1) Nyx Guide which could address all tor related comments,
2) a thread about Tor + http Security (In)Release,
3) and a thread about Rise Up VPN for Bullseye not Buster which could address VPNs and alternatives

Nym is still in development and will be interesting to hear about in the future if this conversation is archived for future reference.
