And so, it begins. :D
'twas only a matter of time until the leviathans distributed filesystems turned up :P
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Four times is Official GNOME Policy.

I neglected to include my backup NAS, made with salvaged hardware, some of it over 10 years old now.

It's the same setup as my main server (Bullseye, Mergerfs & SnapRAID), but significantly less storage. It has an 11TB usable array once again pooled with mergerfs & protected with SnapRAID.

Code: Select all

mark @ nas : ~ $ df -h | grep nas-share
nas-pool 9.9T 4.5T 5.1T 47% /nas-share
These then are the individual drives. The above pool consists of the drives mounted on the /mediaX directories. It's another total of 15TB with 11TB usuable.

Code: Select all

mark @ nas : ~ $ df -t ext4 -h --total
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 19G 7.7G 11G 43% /
/dev/sdf1 1.8T 1.7T 156G 92% /media3
/dev/sdb1 2.7T 775G 1.8T 30% /media2
/dev/sdc1 1.8T 1.6T 150G 92% /media1
/dev/sda3 28G 22G 5.8G 79% /home
/dev/sde1 3.6T 466G 3.0T 14% /media4
/dev/sdd1 3.7T 1.8T 1.9T 48% /media-parity
total 14T 6.2T 7.0T 48% -
Once again, this is the SnapRAID output for more information:

Code: Select all

root @ nas : ~ # snapraid status
Self test...
Loading state from /opt/snapraid/content-file/nas-pool.content...
Using 928 MiB of memory for the file-system.
SnapRAID status report:

Files Fragmented Excess Wasted Used Free Use Name
            Files Fragments GB GB GB
  241477 180 653 - 1706 260 86% media1
  243283 19 37 - 830 2120 28% media2
  587612 377 1100 - 1798 167 91% media3
  106840 58 168 -44.9 498 3437 13% media4
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------
 1179212 634 1958 0.0 4833 5985 45%
Can I get my own total in the OP updated?

Thread updated.

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to keep this family friendly but what in the absolute @*#^!# is going on here, @Bloom? This is ludicrous *@#@%$!!. :D

@Zoot Let's go half on an array and setup something distributed. This is absolute #@(&@$!.

Just to be clear: this is my personal storage solution and I'm not a company. If you're wondering why I need so much space, keep in mind that high-resolution video takes up a lot of room...

Image
This is my current overview. Five storage servers and the fifth has three open slots (currently marked damaged) for which I have three 18 TB hdds ready. The two last 8 TB discs (marked 7,3 TiB) have been marked for removal because I'm phasing them out: they will be replaced by 18 TB discs.

Petition to ban @Bloom. This is insanity.

I think at this point we all get the participation ribbon and they pick whatever image they want.

I got penalized for having three identical 2TB drives. I'm pretty anal about backups

May I apply for a teeny tiny ribbon?

Going to have to talk to management about this. :)
