your X11 server recognizes both "vesa" and "ati" driver (I cannot understand if they are from Debian, since you configured external repositories from repo.radeon.com using "ubuntu jammy" as a target); it's usually better not to mix Debian with packages from external sources, especially for system components:
Code: Select all
Graphics: Device-1: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Navi 23 vendor: ASUSTeK driver: N/A bus ID: 03:00.0
chip ID: 1002:73ff class ID: 0300
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 compositor: gnome-shell driver: loaded: ati,vesa
unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,radeon resolution: 1024x768~76Hz s-dpi: 96
OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 11.0.1 256 bits) v: 4.5 Mesa 20.3.5 compat-v: 3.1
direct render: Yes
All the rendering seems to be done using the CPU by the LLVM renderer. According to the output of the system journal, no firmware seems to be requested by your GPU: that's quite strange, perhaps your x11 server is running on the VESA kernel module.
I would suggest to install Debian Bookworm (12) using the RC4 installer [
1], since Debian Bookworm is going to be the next Debian Stable in few days (June 10th) with a newer kernel and newer amdgpu kernel module.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
