Debian 12 and Adobe Digital Editions or Reolink client

#1 Post by n_m_maclaren »

This is all under wine (for cautiousness) emulating Windows 8.1.

I got Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 working under Debian 10, but it fails dismally under Debian 12 (it just hangs before doing anything). The winetricks version of ADE 4.5 works much better, BUT doesn't stop when I click on the exit button and I have to kill the process(es) manually. This makes it a Right Pain to use in scripts. This is 32-bit Windows - 64-bit is no better. Has anyone got that going better and, if so, how?

I would also like to run the Reolink client, but that fails horribly. I shall experiment, but am not optimistic. Has anyone had any success here? Or even with any other SIMPLE way of managing a Reolink camera from Debian (no, NOT Zoneminder)?

Any comments appreciated.
