I recently installed Debian 12 on this HP G42, that comes with an AMD RS880, AMD Athlon II P340 and 2GB of ram.
I've noticed that, graphically, performs decent enough, but I was wondering if maybe installing AMD's proprietary GPU drivers could get me a little bit more graphic performance.
I've looked at AMD's website, to find that the latest Linux driver is way too old, and only compatible with kernel up to 3.4.
I came here to know if there are any alternatives, or patches to the proprietary drivers (like someone did here for nvidia's 304.137)
