Seeking Clarification on Off-Topic Criteria

#1 Post by Andreinaryder »

Hey everyone, I recently posted a query on the Debian Off-Topic forum, only to find it removed with the explanation that it was off-topic. I'm a bit puzzled by this, as the category itself is labeled as an off-topic forum community. It raises the question of what exactly qualifies as on-topic within this space. If the forum is designated as off-topic, why would a query be removed on the grounds of being off-topic? Seeking clarification to better understand the community guidelines and ensure future posts align appropriately. Thank you!

What was your off-topic thread about?

The rules, which are accessible to all members say "Discussions in "Off topic" should still be in the spirit of this board, that is related to Linux/ Computers/ Software etc. Political, religious or racial discussions do not belong on this board."
