Hello guys, I'm having trouble installing debian 12 on my Acer Aspire A315-23
Here's my BIOS:
While this is how it freezes on detecting the media:
Fast Boot is disabled, secure boot is disabled, the firmware is updated, the SSD isn't recognized by ANY distros, neither ubuntu nor kali nor fedora. BitLocker is not enabled.
I'm smashing my head against the wall trying to find a solution.

So as far as I've understood, Calamares runs on Linux, while I'm on Windows 11, so I can't use it as an installer

Re: Debian Installation Not Recognizing SSD
Thank you. I tried running Debian Live but it froze, with the secure option this is what was left:
. Could it be that my hardware can't be used with linux...?

Hi there,
I'm sorry, but you didn't attach any images to the previous messages.
Are there any diagnostic messages ?

Re: Debian Installation Not Recognizing SSD
@bbbhltz: thanks.
The error message is:
Code: Select all
nvme nvme0: I/O 8 QID 0 timeout, disable controller
nvme nvme0: Identity controller failed (-4)
nvme nvme0: Removing after probe failure status: -5
You can see this previous discussion: The previous discussion was solved installing a newer kernel. You can verify booting with a Debian testing Live ISO: Note: it could be useful to other viewers/readers to add the error message "nvme0: I/O 8 QID 0 timeout, disable controller" to the subject of the first post; for example:
Debian Installation Not Recognizing SSD (nvme0: I/O 8 QID 0 timeout, disable controller)

Re: Debian Installation Not Recognizing SSD
Tried the Live ISO. It also freezes. As so, I couldn't open the terminal. The GRUB present in the Live ISO didn't recognizes the commands from the linked post. I don't know where to smack my head.
