Just a note, having a blank password and not needing to use it are two different things.

It's your computer, so you may do anything you like, but that's not a "solution" anyone should emulate.VPW23 wrote: ↑2024-03-12 14:05 I fixed my problem. https://linuxsimply.com/ubuntu-delete-user-password/

Well, kinda
Let's not conflate use case. There often are things that should be done as 'best practice' while often some considerations actually don't apply. It's most important to understand different ways or choices apply to different situations and not merely preference.
Blank passwords could apply.
Password bypass could apply.
Staged passwords could apply.
Inherited credentials could apply.
Is the computer mobile. Is the computer in a secured location. Does it have multiple access methods like ssh. Does it have multiple users. Can it be initialized remotely. Is it off.
These considerations should not be viewed as choice but as the answers to an analysis of need.

Re: [Discussion] Disable Administrator Password For Downloading Software In Software Store
All of that is correct, of course, but I was making a different point. The OP chose this solution (which they don't really understand) because it saved them the trouble of learning how to edit a config file.
Editing config files is a basic skill. Anyone using Linux needs to learn it. Not all methods, but at least one of them. With that skill in hand, the polikt .rules file isn't difficult to do.

@Best_Threads
Typo perfectionish.
