Yesterday I had a bit of a disaster trying to uninstall nouveau -- trashed everything. Nevermind, I'm well backed up. So, I restored from my backup and probably did a bit of housekeeping and upgraded and so on. And the system is now glacially slow. I mean five seconds to register a keystroke. (I'm here with the backup, and all is well). When I shutdown the glacier, I see this msg:
mdadm-shutdown.service - Perpare mdadm shutdown initramfs
... which sits there for the mandatory 1:30 (can that be shortened?) before Herr P. will permit my system to continue shutting down. What did I do? mdadm has something to do with RAID no? I doan need no steeenking RAID, so can I just uninstall it?
BTW initrd.img's are different, is the problem in there?
Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230
