[Junk] Is there a way for an OP to delete or tag a junk thread?

#1 Post by bitrat »

Hi,

I was wondering if there's a way for a thread's creator to delete it if it proves to be fruitless, ill posed or otherwise reduces to noise.

If not, is there maybe a tag (like [Junk]) that could be used to mark such a thread as of potentially low value?

Cheers,
bitrat

OP can delete the first post in the thread and the thread will go away.

If they'd rather have the thread moved to say, Off-Topic the thing to do would be to privately message a mod or admin.

Cheers. But there's no [X] button. Can it only be deleted for a limited time?

I've never seen the X disappear so I think it'd be wise for me to sit quietly and let someone with more experience answer

That's what I suspected. The [X] button disappears when there's a reply.

Can I suggest a conventional tag to indicate a thread with attenuated uitude? Maybe [Meh] would do it?

I doubt this comes up often enough for the admins to develop a structural solution. Edit the thread title in whatever way makes sense in context. And maybe be a little more thoughtful about what you post in the first place.

Exactly. Not a significant problem.
