No "Guest Additions" needed

EDIT: `glxgears` is more than twice as fast under QEMU compared to VirtualBox. Lol. Are you reading this @pwzhangzz?

Yes, FreeBSD is a very good operating system. But it is not ideal (nothing is ideal in our world). For example the fvwm window manager, with my configuration, crashes. For example, in Debian, fvwm works very stably. Also FreeBSD has problems with xscreensaver. This app works but can't open app settings. Settings core dumped...so nothing is perfect. Therefore, I am left with a set of very simple programs that work stably.

Here is a screenshot of my Manjaro install running LXQt. This one uses an olive theme I made, in fact all the themes used were built by me.

My Debian install is LXQT and the shapes and forms are the same with a teal highlight theme.

I'm running Sparky Linux Minimal (with Openbox only). Here's the base desktop showing the tint2 panel and the conky. I used to have complex conky's with temperature monitors and cpu meters, but that got old. Now I just display the truly useful (for me) information.
Image

I have two menus. The jgmenu on the left opens with the default Openbox right-click and also from the custom icon top-left. The rofi menu on the right opens using alt+space.
Image

Here are a couple windows open, to show the gtk theme. I started by mashing together the Basik theme and Sparky Linux's Sparky5 theme. Then I went tweak-happy, and even created some custom icons for min/max/close.

The Lenovo N23 Chromebook running Kali GNU/Linux 2023.3 I;m using right now.
Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick
Someone recently told me:
"I can't imagine DD'ing Kali, but that's pretty amazing that you do. I've been on Arch for 4 months and wow...love it."

I told them:
"It's exactly like running and conducting responsible Administration of a Debian box."

I don't know what the big deal is. Two years running and the sky hasn't fallen yet. Maybe it's that thing about "conducting responsible administration"...
