Promise Fasttrack SX4300/8300 in debian (etch) 64bit...

#1 Post by NEO^AMiGA »

Have anyone gotten a SX4300 or SX8300 to work in debian? I don't really know where to start. I tried to compile the drivers from the source that promise provides at their webpage but the documentation is lousy and I didn't really get a hang of it. I have also searched the inet for info regarding these cards in combo with debian but no luck.

So now i lay my hope in your hands. Have anyone gotten this to work or know of someone that has?

I might add that I tried the sata_promise module but no luck with this card.

The systemi is Debian Etch Beta2 running on 2.6.16 64bit smp kernel.

Thanks in advance guys.

No..
I just tried the same.
I did not manage to compile their code with a fresh 2.6.18 kernerl, neither with the default 2.4.27 kernel.
Trying with an redhat 9.0 now as they seems to have a precompiled module for that....
