I have recently discovered random text in my LibreOffice Writer. I have discovered it is pasting when I scroll. Many people find this great, but I would like to disable it. I have tried disabling it in Settings and in LibreOffice but to no avail. I am running Debian Linux 12, KDE Plasma 5.27.5, Graphics Platform X11 (NVIDIA), Kernel 6.1.0-21.

From Arch wiki - Disabling middle-click paste

It suggests the Options setting in LO should work, but you say it doesn't for you. There are 2 other system-wide methods offered.

I find this function really useful. Can you just use less pressure when scrolling so not to activate the click?

Good news for the future, in Plasma 6 the option to disable middle-click paste will be in KDE System Settings.

Or just find a mouse with a firm middle button. It has become quite rare unfortunately. I use it absolutely all the time (including in LibreOffice), but manufacturers don't care because it's a Linux feature.

Windows only uses it to

Thanks for your input. I'll try being less aggressive when scrolling
