Mouse Problems

Hello!

I am running SID on 2.6 w/ gnome. Every now and then, a single click registers as a double click. More specifically, when I single click quickly enough (down then up) it will always register as a double click.

I searched google and found others with the same problem. They were able to fix it by removing a mouse in their /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (as in they had 2 mice configured)

However, that solution does not work for me. I do have 2 mice configured, but when I remove one mouse or the other and restart gdm (/etc/init.d/gdm restart) then gdm will not start. I then have to replace it with my config file with the 2 mice configured (the backup) to get gdm working again.

Any suggestions? Thanks! 8)

When you say gdm won't start, I assume you mean x--the graphical interface--won't start. Is that right? Try this. Remove one of the mice from your XF86Config-4 file, log on to your computer, and type startx. You should see an error message that tells you that something is wrong with your XF86Config-4 file. Post the error message here and maybe we can help you.
